This report reviews the sustainability of selected solar mini-grid and solar irrigation systems. The findings identify several factors related to design, installation, operational and management that influence performance of SMGs and SIPs. The report provides key recommendations for sustainable operations of the systems.

This Nepali version of the guideline for management and operation of community-managed solar mini-grids helps guide the user’s organizations/cooperatives, local governments and stakeholders of solar mini-grid projects. The guideline was developed with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Sudurpaschim Province. Annex 23 is an Excel-based mini-grid  tariff calculation tool which aids users determine a suitable electricity tariff of a solar mini-grid project.
